Warm The Children Donation  

Harvest House would like to thank Warm The Children for their partnership as well as their donation of funds to the Baby and Children's Ministry.  These funds will be used to purchase much needed children's items. 

Baby and Children's Ministry Expansion Project

Plans to move the Baby and Children's Ministry to the Harvest House Ministry Center, 175 Jefferson Avenue, are in the works.  The Baby and Children's Ministry, which sees more and more children each year, has outgrown its facilities on Seneca Street, will be moved to a larger space currently occupied by the education center on Jefferson Ave. Not only will its new location give our clients a more comfortable experience and increase the rack and storage space for doantions, it will also make it easeir for families to take advantage of the free medical services at Good Neighbor Health Care and the education services at New Hope.  Plans also include provisions for adding parenting classes and other needed services.  The move will not take place until 2011 at the earliest.

The Harvest House Baby and Children's Ministry is the largest provider of free baby and children's clothing and furniture items in the area, helping families referred by nearly 200 social service and health agencies.  With the exception of diapers and formula, the Baby and Children's Ministry gives away anything dealing with a baby or child, such as clothing, safe cribs, car seats, strollers, toys, books, pajamas, etc.  Most of the items given away have been donated to Harvest House through private individuals and clothing drives.  Through the generosity of individual donors and the proceeds of the Bottles for Babies™ campaign, we are able to purchase extra items such as crib mattresses, socks and underwear. This ministry is run by one paid director, Guadalupé Peña.  "Lupé" is assisted by 25 wonderful volunteers.
