June 27, 2016 - Another wonderful LPN graduation was celebrated at Harvest House! The 24 New Hope Education Center graduates proudly walked on stage to get their caps and pins to a cheering crowd of family and friends. Congratulations to the graduates.
April 13, 2016 was the graduation of the first LPN class of 2016 at our Seneca Avenue location (see photo below). For 15 months these dedicated students have worked tirelessly at Harvest House New Hope Education Center to ensure a better future for themselves and their families. We couldn't be more proud! Congratulations, and we can't wait until you come back and tell us about all the great things you have accomplished!
Thank you to The McGuire Group, Erie 2CCBOCES, Buffalo Public School Adult Ed, Erie Community College, and all of our corporate and private donors for allowing Harvest House to offer these 26 different certificate programs at our New Hope Education Center.
The valedictorian quoted Marian Wright Edelman beautifully when she said, "Service is the rent we pay for living." This captures the spirit of Harvest House, as well as what these talented young nurses will be doing daily.
Students attending the Erie 2 CC BOCES Certified Nursing/Home Health Aide Programs were at New Hope on July 10, 2015 to meet with potential employers. Past and present nursing students met with nine WNY employers including McGuire Group, Kaleida Health, SEIU 1199, Elderwood, Glenwell, Brothers of Mercy, ECMC, HealthForce, and Niagara Lutheran Health.

New Hope Means New Beginnings!
The New Hope Education Center offers brand new classrooms, a new lunchroom, a new student lounge and student services like our Baby & Children's Ministry, providing students with young children clothing and supplies; and our Good Neighbors Health Center, providing primary care, dental and vision care for students without health insurance.
We offer quality educational programs to people in our community who are either not working or working at low income jobs. Our students get the advanced training they need to make a living wage.
Our short-term training programs provide the technical skills required by local employers. In addition, students acquire the ability to work in teams and show motivation in their work. Once students have the knowledge, skills and attitude, they can move from minimum wage jobs to company jobs. In doing so, they generally double their earnings and receive fringe benefits. In addition, the psychological benefits can be enormous! They may even go on to pursue an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
New Hope Education Center is a school catering to adult students. New Hope is unique in that it has various education providers offering different classes in the same space, at the same time. Current providers offering classes are:
Erie Community College (Pre-Collegiate Pathways Program: Math, Reading & Writing)
Erie 2 CC Boces (Licensed Practical Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Assistant Programs)
Buffalo Public Schools Adult Education (Medical Office Occupations, Residential Wiring, Hands on Home Improvement and Beginner Computer Courses). Check out the full listing of courses and course details on the "Courses" tab above.
